You are confronted with a non-linear archive.
The information contained within does not adhere to a conventional chronology. Certain records predate the very notion of time itself, whilst others are yet to transpire.
Initial Guidelines:
Proceed with discretion.
Avoid asking questions to which you are not prepared to hear the answers.
Refrain from fixating on repetitive patterns.
Disregard certain disturbances; in time, they shall disregard you.
Signed,
The Temporal Custody, SPACEWATCH.
Outlined below are some of our current issues. They are subject to continual revision. Each of our documents is undergoing careful review before it is unveiled.
All enquiries regarding temporal or spatial anomalies must be submitted in triplicate using Form Δ-9. Incomplete submissions shall be archived without review. Unauthorised attempts to bypass clearance levels will result in immediate memory realignment.
Remember: that which you seek may already be seeking you.
Spacewatch: Added Records
Notice: Temporal Contamination Containment
The following events are presently under observation:
Event #4471-Ω: A 14th-century monk recording celestial phenomena not due for discovery until 2189.
Event #9923-Λ: Radio transmissions from a colony ship that never launched.
Event #0000-Θ: [REDACTED]
Do not engage. Do not investigate. Report all irregularities to your assigned Observer.
Directive: On the Handling of Extratemporal Artefacts
Artefacts recovered from unregistered timelines are to be secured in Vault-9 under quantum lockdown. Physical contact is strictly prohibited. Cataloguing is to be conducted by non-biological entities only. Should an artefact begin to exhibit chronal resonance, activate the suppression field and await further instruction. There are no exceptions.
Memo: Regarding Unexplained Personnel
Several individuals claiming to be ‘former agents’ have appeared within secure sectors. These entities possess valid credentials, yet no record of employment exists. Do not detain them. Do not question them. Grant standard clearance and immediately alert Overseer Command. Some employees are recruited from timelines that have yet to exist.
Warning: Restricted Archives
The Black Shelf is not a metaphor. Do not approach Section X-12 without a Class-9 mental shielding implant. The knowledge contained therein has been known to rewrite the reader. Should you hear whispering from the stacks, inform a Custodian at once — assuming you still recall why you came here in the first place.
Addendum: On the Nature of ‘Lost’ Files
Documents occasionally vanish from the archives. This is not an error. This is not a malfunction. Should you encounter a file you do not recognise, do not open it. Some truths are not meant to be kept.
