Enneacraft: An Archetype with Personality

Enneacraft is a striking archetype introduced in Yu-Gi-Oh! Phantom Revengers (2025). The name “Enneacraft” derives from the Greek prefix “ennea-” meaning nine, which pervades every aspect of the archetype’s design. All members are LIGHT or EARTH Machine-Type monsters with the unique designation of being both Flip monsters and Pendulum Monsters simultaneously.

At the core of this archetype lies the Synquisition Counter (E.C. Counter), gained whenever a monster is flipped face-up. These counters fuel a web of card effects, enabling incremental damage, clever resource management, and unique synergy with Pendulum Zones. The deck balances powerful Level 9 boss monsters, brimming with impactful effects, alongside Level 1 support monsters that act as engines. Together, they establish a layered playstyle blending setup, disruption, and unrelenting pressure.

Every monster shares a Pendulum Scale of 0, which ordinarily prevents Pendulum Summoning but serves a different strategic purpose within the archetype’s framework. And all monsters share a universal Special Summon condition that allows them to reveal themselves from hand to Special Summon another monster face-down in Defence Position, establishing the archetype’s identity around face-down monster manipulation.

Enneacraft Lore & Design

Enneacraft draws inspiration from the Enneagram, a model describing nine interconnected personality types: Reformer, Helper, Archivist, Individualist, Investigator, Skeptic, Enthusiast, Challenger, and Peacemaker.

The archetype divides into two distinct subgroups based on Level and naming convention. The high-Level monsters are Level 9 LIGHT Machines with identical 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF, each bearing names that combine Greek letters with capitalised English words. The low-Level monsters are Level 1 EARTH Machines with uniform 100 ATK and 1000 DEF, their names featuring Greek letters followed by Greek words in quotation marks that end with the suffix “-IA”. Each Level 9 shares its name as an anagram of its Level 1 partner, reinforcing their mirrored relationship.

The archetype’s aesthetic identity as LIGHT and EARTH Machines suggests the technological origins, with the fusion of Flip and Pendulum mechanics potentially representing the mechanical beings that shift between dormant and active states

How to Play Enneacraft: Guide, Pendulum/Flip and Counters

Overview: Theme & Core Mechanics

The Enneacraft archetype revolves around controlling the field through face-down monster manipulation, reactive disruption, and incremental burn damage accumulation. The central theme combines the mechanical concepts of Flip monsters and Pendulum Monsters into a cohesive strategy where monsters exist in three states: face-down on the field, face-up on the field, or in the Pendulum Zones.

Unlike traditional Pendulum strategies that use the mechanic for mass Special Summoning, Enneacraft employs Pendulum Zones as safe havens for storing powerful reactive effects whilst simultaneously generating Sinquisition Counters each time any monster flips face-up. This counter generation feeds into the Field Spell’s burn damage effect, converting defensive positioning and monster flipping into direct damage that wears down opponents over time.

The Level 9 monsters function as the archetype’s primary threats, each providing powerful disruption effects when flipped face-up whilst contributing continuous effects or additional Flip Effects that control the game state. The Level 1 monsters serve as reactive search engines that add consistency by retrieving archetype cards from the Deck whenever opponents activate effects in specific game zones or with particular mechanics.

The universal Special Summon condition shared by all Pendulum Monsters allows any Enneacraft to reveal itself from hand and Special Summon another monster face-down in Defence Position, though this restricts you to only Special Summoning in face-down Defence Position for the remainder of that turn. The Quick Effect system distinguishes each Enneacraft by assigning specific trigger conditions that flip the monster face-up in Defence Position when met

Key Mechanics

Sinquisition Counter (E.C. Counter): All Enneacraft Monster cards, in Pendulum Zone, gain 1 Sinquisition Counter each time a monster is flipped face-up.

Free Summons: Special Summon, face-down, any Enneacraft by revealing any other Enneacraft in your hand.

Trap Monsters: Enneacraft works like Trap cards, they flip up when your opponent plays.

Combos and Strategies

Traditionally, duelists avoid overloading on high-level monsters. However, Enneacraft breaks this convention. Since the Level 9 monsters can be Summoned face-down with ease, there’s no drawback in including three copies of each. This approach guarantees constant access to powerful threats while maintaining synergy with Flip mechanics.

The fundamental opening strategy involves establishing two Enneacraft monsters in your Pendulum Zones whilst setting up face-down monsters on the field to respond to opponent’s plays. The ideal opening uses Enneacraft – Release to place an Enneacraft Pendulum Monster directly from Deck into a Pendulum Zone, then reveals another Enneacraft from hand to Special Summon a third monster face-down in Defence Position. This creates immediate board presence with minimal resource investment whilst activating at least one Pendulum Effect that begins generating Sinquisition Counters.

The Level 1 monsters serve as responsive search engines that trigger off common opponent actions, with Deftero Enneacraft-“alazoneIA” being particularly valuable as most decks search cards from the Deck regularly. By maintaining multiple face-down Level 1 monsters, you create a web of potential interruptions where opponents cannot predict which specific trigger will activate your Quick Effects.

The shared Pendulum Effect among all monsters creates passive pressure by destroying one opponent’s monster with less than 3000 ATK at the end of each Battle Phase when you control two Enneacrafts in Pendulum Zones, which eliminates threats without requiring card activation.

Win Condition

The Enneacraft archetype achieves victory through accumulated burn damage supplemented by control-based attrition that exhausts opponent’s resources until they cannot mount effective offence. The primary win condition revolves around establishing Enneapolis alongside multiple Enneacraft monsters in Pendulum Zones, creating a passive damage engine where every monster flip generates a Sinquisition Counter that converts to 900 damage during your End Phase.

The archetype’s control elements support the burn win condition by extending games through disruption and resource denial. The archetype grinds through extended games by recycling resources using Rebirth to shuffle monsters back into the Deck for fresh draws and Release’s graveyard effect to retrieve face-up monsters from the Extra Deck back to hand for reuse
